WhatsApp launches an updated version for Android users through the Google Play Beta Program. It is 2.25.8.15
This update suggests that WhatsApp is really working on adding this “motion photo” feature that allows a user to share motion photos in chats, groups, and channels. However, this is still in the beta stage and not fully developed. So, WhatsApp has released this version open for testing and feedback.
Once ready, users can access such a feature by means of the “gallery sheet interface” from WhatsApp, News Bytes reported.
What is WhatsApp Motion Photos?
Through these “motion photos,” which is a special type of shareable media, users can record a few seconds before and after a snapshot is clicked. The same concept is utilized in “live photos” available with iOS-capable devices.
The same is supplemented with a few seconds of video and voice, capturing entertaining precious moments through normal photographs.
This is popular because it closes the distance between image and video.
Very soon, it will allow motion images, thus adding more options for sharing media.
The gallery sheet will have a section for a new button that leads to motion photos.
The button allows sending either a fixed image or an animated version of it, which would add more flexibility in certain contexts.
The photo sharing feature, which is still in development, is for both one-on-one and group conversations as well as channels.
That will make it instantly delivered in animated format to the recipient.
On account of likely receiving these motion images as live photos, it is expected these users will share the media infused with a sense of the action and sound involved in the captured moment.
