This time, famous YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia appeared in his show, where he asked such an obscene question related to parents in the show that people got angry.

This video of his is going viral on social media. As the matter escalated, a complaint was filed against the organisers of the show as well as Ranveer and Samay Raina. After watching the video of India’s Got Talent, people are criticising Ranveer and asking him how he can think so cheaply.

What did Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma say?

Former NCW chief and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma said, “The video is extremely shocking, and I think such jokes are never accepted in society, be it a woman or a man. It is not good to joke about a mother or a woman’s body, and somewhere it shows to what extent today’s youth have fallen morally. I think such jokes affect those who are engaged in similar creative work. I have just sent that video to the NCW chairperson to take action.”

Complaint filed against Ranveer Allahbadia

A written complaint has been filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina, and the organisers of India’s Got Latent. This complaint has also been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission. This complaint has been made for using abusive language, and strict action has been demanded. People are sharing this video fiercely on social media. People are venting their anger on Ranveer.

What did CM Fadnavis say when the matter escalated?

Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis’ statement has also come out in the India’s Got Latent case. He said that I have also received information about this, although I have not seen it. I have come to know that things have been run in an indecent manner, which is absolutely wrong. Freedom of speech is for everyone, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon someone else’s freedom. This is not right. Everyone has their own limits; we have also set rules for obscenity. If someone crosses them, action will be taken against him.

Letter also written to Women’s Commission

Demanding registration of FIR against Allahbadia and other comedians, lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra have written a letter to Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Falshankar and the State Women’s Commission. They have said that the comments made in the ‘India’s Got Latent’ show are tantamount to insulting women, and action should be taken on it. The complaint names Allahbadia, comedians Samay Raina and Apoorva Makhija, among others.

Demand to shut down India’s Got Latent

The lawyers have alleged that such statements were made only for the purpose of making money. They have demanded that the show ‘India’s Got Latent’ be shut down and a case be registered against the comedian and the show’s organisers.

Earlier, Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks had sparked outrage, with many claiming that shows like ‘India’s Got Latent’ were presenting obscenity as comedy. Journalist and lyricist Neelesh Mishra was among those who spoke out. Sharing a clip of Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks, he said these artists have no sense of responsibility.”

Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said the applause for such comments worries us. “It’s not constructive; it’s perverted, and we cannot normalise perverted behaviour. The fact that this sick comment was met with loud applause worries us all.”
